Properties: The aroma of Bergamot essential oil is uplifting, refreshing and promotes tranquillity. It is used in aromatherapy to relieve symptoms of melancholy, tiredness and irritability. It is also antiseptic. It balances the skin, is a good deodorant and will help kill germs in the home.
Uses: Massage, baths, inhalation, vaporisation and may be added to base emollients. It may be inhaled directly from a tissue for emotional upset and negative moods. It is safe for home use if well diluted.
Blends well with: Black Pepper, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Ginger, Neroli and Sandalwood.
Caution: Bergamot essential oil may irritate skin especially if subsequently exposed to sunlight.
