Caraway Essential Oil Carum carvi Source: Carum carvi is native to West Asia, Europe and North Africa, it is grown commercially in France. It is a carrot-like plant. Extraction: Caraway essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the fruits (they look like seeds but strictly speaking they are not). Aroma: Caraway essential oil has a warm, sweet and spicy scent. Fragrance note: Middle to top. Properties: Caraway essential oil is said to soothe emotional fatigue, maintain normal digestion and support a healthy respiratory system. Uses: Massage, baths and vaporisation.
