Narcissus Absolute is another oil with a centuries-old tradition.
In India, the oil is applied to the body before prayer in temples. Arabians recommend the oil as an aphrodisiac and a cure for baldness! Roman perfumers used 'narcissum' from narcissus flowers when making their complex perfumes.
Modern usage is usually in perfumery thanks to its sweet herbaceous odor with heavy floral undertones. It may have some aromatherapy benefits when blended in a carrier oil or a base cream or lotion but should be used with care as too high a concentration can lead to headaches and nausea.
Extraction: Narcissus (Narcissus poeticus L) Absolute Oil is solvent- extracted from the flowers.
PROPERTIES: Considered an aphrodisiac.
USES: Narcissus Absolute Oil is used in perfumery.
CAUTION Always dilute Narcissus Absolute Oil to 5% or less in a carrier oil before applying to the skin.
